Information You Give Us
Information collected from you will vary, depending on how you use the Services and what information you may choose to provide to us (whether through email or otherwise). It is possible to browse most sections of the Site without submitting any personally identifiable information. Personally identifiable information means individually identifiable information about you that we collect online, including your full name, a username and password, email address, phone number, physical address, and billing information, if applicable (“Personal Information”). If you choose to take advantage of some of our Services, you may be asked to provide Personal Information. You can choose not to provide us with Personal Information, but then you may not be able to fully take advantage of certain features of our Site and we may not be able to provide you with certain requested information or services.
Automatically Collected Information
Like many websites, we automatically track certain information about you as you use our Services to help us to better understand how the Services are used and how we can enhance your overall experience. This information we collect may include your computer’s Internet Protocol address, the URLs and Site pages you have visited, the number of times you visit each Site page, what downloads and search queries you have made, how long you spent on particular sections of the Site, and your browser type. This automatically gathered data includes information provided through the use of “cookies.” Cookies are small files that we send to and store on your computer or mobile device so that we can recognize it as a unique machine the next time you visit the Site.
Information that is automatically gathered may be shared in aggregate form with other third parties, including listing providers and advertisers. When such data is aggregated, all Personal Information is eliminated.
User-Requested Services and Information
Use of the Services may require you to share your Personal Information with us. The information you submit to us in order to access or use the Services is used by us to provide the information or service you have requested. We may also share this information with others, but only to the extent necessary to fulfill your request or to facilitate your use of the Services. When sharing such information in such a manner, we may also share your Internet Protocol (IP) address. In addition, we may use any registration information that you submit as set forth in the “Registration Information” paragraph below.
We may use other companies and individuals to perform supporting functions for the various tools, functionality, products and services offered through our Services on our behalf such as the shopping cart and customer account functions. These service providers may have access to your Personal Information and may store Personal Information on their servers, however, they will not be permitted to use the Personal Information collected from you for any other purpose other than performing the support functions for Acme.
Portions of the Site may enable you to send email to us. Your Internet Protocol (IP) address may be included in any email that you send. Whenever you choose to initiate these kinds of communication with us you may be contacted in return.
Protection of Rights
The Personal Information you provide when you become a registered member of the Services is used primarily to help us customize your online experience, increase the convenience of accessing new tools, products and services, and, if applicable, provide the products and/or services you purchase or request. Your username serves as a unique identifier in our record system, and together with your password is designed to prevent unauthorized access to any information you choose to store on the Site. The data you provide in your member profile (e.g., your name, address, billing information, or the like) is used to help provide you with products and services from Acme. If you forget your password for any registered area of the Site, you may contact Acme directly to retrieve the relevant information.
We may use the email address you provide to us to contact you for promotional or other purposes. You may have these communications terminated at any time by contacting us at email@example.com with your request.
If you are under the age of 13 you should not register with us, provide information to us or use or access the Services. We do not collect Personal Information from any person we actually know is a child under the age of 13. If you have knowledge that a child under the age of 13 has submitted Personal Information to us, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
